Intro (who/what):
- Meet the creator who built a workflow that can generate 30 days of Instagram content in about 20 minutes using automation and AI—with a human-in-the-loop to add a unique perspective. 🔧🤖
Structured summary
-
One-liner gist 🚀
- A scalable, AI-powered system that converts an initial reel into a full month of content in minutes, augmented by human insight to keep it authentic and original.
-
Tech stack and tools used 🧰
- n8n — automation/orchestration to run the end-to-end workflow.
- Appify — scraper to pull Instagram Reels from target profiles.
- Google Sheets — data control, storage, and workflow state (transcripts, prompts, status).
- OpenAI — transcription of videos and generation of scripts/prompts.
- Perplexity — fact verification and research questions with citations.
- Whisper flow (HITL input) — human thought notes via dictation to guide final output.
-
End-to-end workflow (step-by-step, in order) 🧭
- Scrape target Instagram reels with Appify.
- Check for duplicates in Google Sheets to avoid reprocessing the same reel.
- Download the reel video and transcribe it with OpenAI.
- Categorize the reel (new tool/resource/story) and decide whether to proceed.
- Generate recommended updates and perplexity-based research questions from the transcription.
- Use Perplexity to verify claims and gather supporting facts with citations.
- Instruct AI to draft a 90-second Instagram Reel script following a framework (Russell Brunson’s Hook-Story-Offer) and attach graphics notes.
- Produce a final reel script and store it in Google Sheets (new transcript, updated transcript, human thoughts, status).
- Trigger final creation via a checkbox and automate re-generation for subsequent reels.
-
Human-in-the-loop (HITL) concept and example 🧠
- A human perspective ensures originality and nuance; “human thoughts” are captured (via dictation) to shape the final script, balancing speed with authentic voice and worldview.
- Example: after Perplexity returns research insights, the human notes reflect how to steer the angle (e.g., emphasizing consumer benefit, or contrasting it with industry norms) before the final script is created.
-
Outputs and deliverables 🚀
- 90-second Instagram Reel script.
- Enhanced transcript, updated prompts, and research facts stored in a sheet.
- Visual/graphics notes and hook/story/offer framing for editing.
-
Costs and scalability notes 💡
- Example costs cited: Appify pricing (approx. $2.30 per 1,000 scrapes), OpenAI credits, and related run-time costs.
- Scalability ideas: batch processing, expanding target profiles, multi-channel adaptation (short-form across platforms), API-driven video rendering, and more robust HITL prompts.
-
Practical takeaways and best practices 🧩
- Tailor the system to a channel’s avatar/voice: define the target audience, tone, and jargon, then prompt the system accordingly.
- Prompt for specificity and engagement: request concrete, actionable improvements rather than generic advice.
- Document prompts and tool parameters clearly to reproduce and scale the pipeline.
-
